Val d’Isere ski resort is without a doubt one of the best ski resorts in the world, and definitely in the top 3 best French ski resorts. It is located about 2.5-hours (by private transfer) from Geneva and Lyon airports and only 40 min drive from Bourg St Maurice train station (closest station in France).
You will find an incredible range of hotels, apartments and chalets and a very lively après-ski scene which is one of the best in the French Alps. Val d’Isere has over 80 restaurants, 30 bars and 4 night clubs.
With a high altitude at 1,850m, Val d’Isère is snow guaranteed during the winter season from end of November to the beginning of May. This is thanks to both its geographical location and the snow factory, the largest artificial snow-making system in Europe.

The ski village is built around authentic alpine stone farmhouses and has an 11th century church and a bell tower built in the 1600s in the centre of the village.
Val d’Isere is linked to Tignes to create the huge 300-kilometre Val d’Isère-Tignes ski area. In the video, Gilles takes you on a snowboarding experience through this vast fluffy white playground to experience the stunning surrounding landscapes.
